What if your best writing is hiding behind your inner critic?
Most writers know the feeling. You sit down with a clear idea, and then you start second-guessing every sentence before it even reaches the page.
That’s exactly the problem Jimmy Carrane loves to solve. For more than 30 years, Jimmy has taught improv in Chicago to students of every stripe, from first-timers to teams at Fortune 500 companies. He’s the author of three books on improv and the host of the acclaimed podcast Improv Nerd. TV fans might recognize him from The Bear, Shining Girls, or Chicago PD. In this workshop, though, the spotlight is on you.
Jimmy uses story-based improv games to help writers quiet the overthinking, follow their instincts, and find out where a story wants to go when you stop steering so hard. You don’t need any improv background, and you don’t need to be funny. You just need to be willing to play.
